Khamosh was a thriller released in the year of 1986. The movie was directed as well as produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The important roles in the film were played by Amol Palekar, Naseruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi and Sadashiv Amrapurkar while Pankaj Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Ajit Vachchani, Kamal Chopra, Avtar Gill and Pawan Malhotra were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Anu Malik while the songs were sung by Mohammad Aziz, Asha Bhosle, Anuradha Paudwal, Suresh Wadkar and Alka Yagnik.

Khamosh was a thriller film that starts with a Bollywood unit that was required to visit a location called Pahalgam in Kashmir for the completion of a unnamed and incomplete movie. The movie to be recorded there was a bit different from all of the other movies produced because the movie was going to feature the big starts namely Naseerudin Shah, Amol Palekar, Sushma Seth, Shabana Azmi, and Sadashiv Amrapurkar.

The surprising thing about the story of the movie was that though the stars were unable to cope up with each other, they were equally close during their film shoot out. The roles they portray were completely opposite of what they were individually. They all didn’t like each other and up to an extent that some blows were also exchanged between the people. Then one of them gets killed, followed by the deaths of Dayal ( Ajit Vachchani  ) and Sushma. Police was contacted and the conclusion made was that Kuku ( Pankaj Kapoor ) - a mentally ill man was responsible for all that.
