The action and comedy movie Khatron Ke Khiladi was released on May 27, 1988. The movie was directed by T Rama Rao and produced by V B Rajendra Prasad. The major roles in the movie were enacted by Dharmendra, Neelam Kothari, Sanjay Dutt and Chunky Pandey while the roles of Madhuri Dixit, Shakti Kapoor, Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Paresh Rawal were also important. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Alka Yagnik, Mohammad Aziz and Anuradha Paudwal.

The movie Khatron Ke Khiladi was an action cum comedy film that revolves mostly around Balwant ( Dharmendra ) who is an honest truck driver and living with his younger brother, Jaswant ( Ram Mohan ), and wife Sumati ( Anjana Mumtaz ). Balwant’s wife was expecting so he asks his brother to drive truck for him. Jaswant finds out that the truck is delivering smuggled and illicit goods, and refuses to drive it. Truck company owners and others beat him up and this lead to his death.

Balwant comes just in time to witness the killers of his brothers and thus swears to bring his killers to justice. But the twist in the story comes when Balwant himself was caught by the Inspector Amarnath in charge of killing his own brother. Then, his house wass burned down by the trucking company owners and his wife was reported dead in the fire. Balwant escapes from the prison to take his brother’s and wife’s death revenge.
