Yesteryear hit bollywood movie, Khilona, directed by Chander Vora was released on April 8, 1970. The movie starred Sanjeev Kumar, and Mumtaz in lead roles while Jeetendra, Shatrughan Sinha, Durga Khote, Jayshree T., Aruna Irani, Jagdeep, Shabnam and Malika also played important roles in the film. The music of the movie was given by the veteran music directro duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc. The movie is still remembered for the excellent performance of Sanjeev Kumar.

The movie starts with Thakur Suraj Singh ( Bipin Gupta ), who is a welthy businessman living with his wife, three son and a young daughter named Radha ( Jayshree T. ). His elder son, Kishore ( Ramesh Deo ) is looking after the business now. His next son, Vijaykamal ( Sanjeev Kumar ) is a famous poet and the youngest one, Mohan ( Jeetendra ) is studying law in the city. Vijay is in love with a beautiful girl named Sapna ( Alka ) and is planning to get married with her. But before he can proceed, Sapna is forcibly married to Bihari ( Shatrughan Sinha ). On the wedding night, Sapna kills herself and after hearing this news Vijay looses his mental balance.

Vijay becomes very dangerous at certain situations and therefore his family member decides to keep him under lock. Suraj singh brings a nurse named Chand ( Mumtaz ) at their home to look after Vijay. But the things worse for Chand when Vijay sexually assaults her and the whole family refuse to accept her as their daughter-in-law. Nobody believes on her saying. Meanwhile Mohan returns to home and falls for Chand. Bihari also wants Chand to be with him only. Soon vijay also recovers from his mental problem but refuse to recognize Chand. What will Chand do now?
