The action and family drama Khud-Daar was released on July 30, 1982. The movie was directed by Ravi Tandon and produced by Anwar Ali and Farouq Rattonsey. The top roles in the movie were played by Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Mehra, Parveen Babi and Bindiya Goswami while the supporting roles were played by Sanjeev Kumar, Tanuja, Mehmood, Prem Chopra and A K Hangal. The music of the film was directed by Rajesh Roshan while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Syed Hasan.

The movie Khud-Daar was an action flick that revolved mostly around a man named Hari R. Srivastav ( Sanjeev Kumar ) who is a middle class man living a simple life with his two step-brothers, Govind ( Amitabh Bachchan ) and Rajesh ( Vinod Mehra ). The movie takes a turn when due to the circumstances he was required to get married to a girl named Seema who disliked his brothers Govind and Rajesh very much. He was also required to go to Bombay to study law to become a lawyer.

When Hari was not at home, his wife manages to get rid of the two children who goes to Bombay and turns out to be beggars. They were then saved by a Muslim family of Rahim ( A K Hangal ) who looked after the children as his own children Farida and Anwar. The life of the people leads Hari, Govind and Rajesh into a courtroom some 20 years later where Hari is the judge while Govind and Rajesh are accused of some charges.
