Khwab was a family drama released in the year of 1980. The movie was directed as well as produced by Shakti Samanta. The major roles in the movie were played by Mithun Chakraborty, Naseruddin Shah, Ranjeeta and Yogita Bali while the roles of Ashok Kumar, Madan Puri, Sujit Kumar and Asrani were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Ravindra Jain while the songs were sung by Hemlata, Jaspal Singh, Suresh Wadkar and K J Yesudas.

Khwab was a family flick that was like all the other movies released at that time. The movie was directed by the famous director Shakti Samanta who had directed various movies like Kashmir Ki Kali released in 1964, Kati Patang released in 1971 and Barsat Ki Ek Raat released in 1981 while his first film as a director was Bahu released in 1955. The movie was also produced by him producing movies like China Town released in 1962 and Aamne Samne released in 1982.

The male lead in the film was played by the famous actor Mithun Chakraborty who has given many hits like Mera Rakshak, Hum Se Badhkar Kaun, Ghar Ek Mandir, and Agneepath amongst the rest. He made his debut as a hero with the movie Mrigaya released in 1976. The female lead in the film was played by Ranjeeta who acted in movies like Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi released in 1979, Pati Patni Aur Who released in 1980 and Do Qaidi released in 1989 while her debut film was Laila Majnu released in 1976.
