Khwahish was a romantic movie released on June 6, 2003 under the banner of Perry Pictures. The movie was directed by Govind Menon and produced by Vivek Nayak. The important roles in the movie were enacted by Himanshu Mallik, Shivaji Satam, Mallika Sherawat and Shahbaaz Khan while the role of Mahamud Babai was also important. The music of the film was directed by Milind Chitragupt and Sagar while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle, K K and Udit Narayan.

The movie Khwahish directed by Govind Menon featured Himanshu Malik in the lead who also played the lead role in Tum Bin. He is the only actor who has not had a release after the successful launch. The movie also introduces the newcomer Mallika Sherawat in the lead role. The movie is based on the theme of mature romance between these actors. The story of the movie revolves around the couple Amar Ranawat ( Himanshu Malik ) and Lekha ( Mallika Sherawat ).

The first encounter between Amar and Lekha made the other people to pose problems to their marriage. However, Amar decided to go against his father’s wishes and decided to marry Lekha. His father believed that his love is purely infatuation and didn’t have any strong foundation. Amar also decided to continue his education and required that Lekha sacrifice her dream of life in classical music. This made him complete his education. After Amar have become successful, it is on them to decide when they want to get married.
