Bollywood musical romantic flick, Kisna: The Warrior Poet, directed by Subash Ghai and written by Sachin Bhowmick was released on January 21, 2005. The movie starred Vivek Oberoi and Isha Sharvani in lead roles while Antonia Bernath, Amrish Puri, Sushmita Sen, Vivek Mushran, Om Puri, Polly Adams, Rajat Kapoor, Michael Maloney and Zarina Wahab also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by Ismail Darbar and A. R. Rehamn in collaboration while the songs were rendered by Sukhwinder Singh, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Madhushree and Anuradha Paudwal.

The movie is set at the time of 1930’s when whole country was standing against Britishers and urging them to quit. Kisna Singh ( Vivek Oberoi ) meets with a british girl named Katherine ( Antonia Bernath ) and befriends her. Katherine is the daughter of the British collector Peter Beckett ( Michael Maloney ). Katherine and Kisna falls in love with each other and this love relationship between the two is not accepted by their parents. Kisna’s marraige has already been arranged with aother girl named Lakshmi ( Isha Sharwani ).

Situations get worse for britisher to live in India. Despite being committed to marry Lakshmi, Kisna decides to help Katherine to escort her to the safety of British high commission in New Delhi. Kisna and Katerine elopes on the wedding day of Kisna and Lakshmi. Kisna’s uncle and brother are now also after the two and wants to kill Katherine at any cost. How Kisna saves Katherine and his life from the revolutionaries is the rest of the story?
