The action thriller Kohram was released on August 13, 1999. The movie was directed and produced by Mehul Kumar. The actors in the lead roles of the movie were Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu, Nana Patekar and Danny Denzongpa while the presence of Jaya Prada and Mukul Dev supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Dilip Sen and Sameer Sen while the songs were sung by Kishanpal Singh, Sudesh Bhosle, Amit Kumar, Udit Narayan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Sukhwinder Singh, Sanjeevani, Shankar Mahadevan and Jaspinder Narula.

Kohram was an action movie that reproduces the sentiments of people after the Kargil war. The movie features various big names in the movie but fails to produce some effect. The story of the movie revolves around Colonel Balbir Singh Sodhi ( Amitabh Bachchan ) and Major Rathod ( Jackie Shroff ), though Major Rathod’s life was not that long as he lost his life under the wrath of Virbhadra Singh ( Danny Denzongpa ). To take revenge for Rathod’s death, Balbir tries to kill Virbhadra but fails to kill him and meets with an accident while fleeing and thus was declared dead.

Some years later, Brigadier Bedi ( Kabir Bedi ) comes across a man who looked like Balbir, he is Dada Bhai alias Devraj Hathoda. Bedi thinks that Balbir might not have been dead and this man could be Balbir himself. To clear his doubt he appoints Major Ajit Arya ( Nana Patekar ). Ajit introduces himself to Dada Bhai as a journalist and wanted to find his real identity but falls considerably. Meanwhile, Ajit and Bedi find Minister Virbhadra Singh’s true identity and punish him.
