The romantic movie Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe was released on January 11, 2002 under the banner of S K Films Enterprises. The movie was directed by Vinay Shukla and produced by Surinder Kapoor. The actors in the significant roles were Jaya Bachchan, Aftab Shivdasani, Sanjay Kapoor and Esha Deol while the roles of Anupam Kher and Rajpal Yadav were also important. Music of the film was directed by Rajesh Roshan and the songs were sung by Sonu Nigam, Kamal Khan, Shaan, Preeti Uttam, Hema Sardesai and Pamela Jain.

This romantic thriller also saw actor Sanjay Kapoor in a negative role for the first time in his career. The movie revolves around a simple and innocent guy Aman ( Aftab ) who is a student of the National Institute of Fashion Technology. He is a brilliant student and any girl’s dream boy. He fell in love with the beautiful Esha ( Esha Deol ) when she entered the college.

Aman tried everything to gain her attention but she ignored him. He was then helped by his father ( Anupam Kher ) who decides to hold a Valentines Day party inviting every student and his parent of the same college. Aman tries to impress her in front of her mother Mansi Devi ( Jaya Bachchan ). Esha’s life was full of troubles, the story reveals as she goes in flashback. She was married to Mansi’s son Dushyant ( Sanjay Kapoor ). Mansi Devi is her mother-in-law. He died in a mishap while she was saving her life.
