Bollywood movie, Krantiveer, directed by Mehul Kumar was released on July 22, 1994. The movie starred Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia in lead roles while Atul Agnihotri, Mamta Kulkarni, Paresh Rawal and Danny Denzongpa were also seen in important roles in the film. The movie was distributed under the banner of Mehul Movies Pvt. Ltd. The music of the film was given by the famous duo Anand-Milind and the songs were sung by Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Sudesh Bhonsle, Udit Narayan, Amit Kuamr, Sadhna Sargam etc. The movie was well recieved by the audiences and did exceptionally well at the box office. The movie also managed to bag a National Film Award.

The movie starst with a child named Pratap Narayan Tilak ( Nana Patekar ), who get thrown out of his village by his mother after the death of his grandfather because of his bad deeds. He saves a child named Atul ( Atul Agnihotri ), who is the son of a slum landlord ( Paresh Rawal ). Paresh adopts him and start bringing him as his second child. Pratap meets a journalist named Megha Dixit ( Dimple Kapadia ), who aks him to raise his voice against the injustice happening in his surroundings.

However, Pratap always tries to avoid her. But when some politicians and a gangleader Cheetah ( Danny Denzonpa ) kills his and Atul’s father, he decides to take the law into his own hands. He murders the politicians and Cheetah who were involved in his father’s death and takes his revenge. Nana Patekar gave one of his finest performance in the film and won several acclaims from audience as well as by critics.
