Kudrat was a musical drama released on April 3, 1981. The movie was directed by Chetan Anand. The top roles in the movie were played by Raaj Kumar, Vinod Khanna, Hema Malini and Rajesh Khanna while the roles of Priya Rajvansh, Aruna Irani, Deven Verma, A.K. Hangal and Om Shivpuri were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Annette Pinto, Lata Mangeshkar and Parveen Sultana.

Kudrat was a musical film that revolved mostly around a woman named Chandramukhi ( Hema Malini ) who is a young and beautiful woman living a comfortable life with her family consisting of her father and mother Sarla. They planned to go to a trip to a scenic location and thus decided to go to Simla where Sarla meets her childhood friend Kanta Gupta who lives there with her Psychiatrist son, Naresh ( Vinod Khanna ). This was when the movie takes a turn.

Chandramukhi and Naresh develop likeliness to each other and fell in love with each other. This was not a problem to their parents. The unexpected happen when first night in Simla, Chandramukhi has a nightmare where she sees herself chasing a man. The second night she has the same nightmare, prompting Naresh to hypnotize her. With the passage of time, Chandramukhi’s consition started getting worse.
