Bollywood action thriller, Kurukshetra, written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar was released on November 10, 2000. The movie starred Sanjay Dutt and Mahima Chaudhary in lead roles while Om Puri, Shivaji Satham, Siyaji Shinde, Mukesh Rishi, Salil Ankola, Raadhika Rana, Mahesh Anand, Pramod Muthu, Rakhi Sawant, Suman Ranganathan, Kashmira Shah and Sukhwinder Singh also played important roles in the film. The superhit music of the film was directed by none other than famous music director Himesh Reshamiya while the songs were rendered by Sukhwinder Singh, Kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Sunidhi Chauhan etc. the movie was a hit at the box office window.

The movie starts with an honest and strict officer D.S.P Prithvi Raj Singh ( Sanjay Dutt ). He is supposed to be the biggest threat for the criminals in the city. All criminals are scared of him. He gets transfer in Mumbai and on his very first day he meets with the criminal Iqbal Pasina ( Mukesh Rishi ). Iqbal get inspired by him and decides to close all his illegal bsuinesses. Prithvi’s wife, Anjali ( Mahima Chaudhary ) and his young sister, Aarti ( Raadhika Rana ) are always upset of him as he spends more time in his work. But they also understands his dedication and passion about his work and therefore never complains to him about this.

Prithvi arrests C.M. Babu Rao Deshmukh’s ( Om Puri ) son Ambar and his friend Rohit in the charge of raping a girl named Geeta. C.M. ask him to free his son immediately but he refuses. In the court, he gives all the evidence which are more than enough for proving Ambar’s guilt but at the last moment Geeta takes her steps back from the case. Then begins the battle between corrupt and influential Babu Rao and honest Prithvi Raj Singh. Who will win this battle and how is the real story of the movie?
