Bollywood movie, Kya Kehna, was released on 19 May 2000. The movie was directed by Kundan Shah. The movie starred Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta in lead roles while Chandrachur Singh, Anupam Kher, Farida Zalal and Mamik also played important roles in the movie. The music of the film was given by Rajesh Roshan. The success of this movie established Preity Zinta’s career as an actress. The film focuses on the issue of pre-marital pregnancy.

The movie starst with Priya Bakshi ( Preity Zinta ), who is the daughter of Gulshan Bakshi ( Anupam Kher ) and Rohini Bakshi ( Farida Jalal ). Ajay ( Chandrachur Singh ), who is the best friend of Priya is secretly in love with her. Priya takes admission in a college after completing her school. In college she meets Rahul ( Saif Ali Khan ), who is a famous stud of the college. Rahul becomes attracted to Priya after two or three meetings. Priya too gets attracted to Rahul’s charm and freindly nature. However, Priya’s elder brother and family knows about Rahul’s womanizing nature and therefore tell her to stay away from him.

But Priya finds it difficult to forget Rahul. She also establishes physical relationship with Rahul. One day she brings Rahul to her home for a metting with her parents. But when Priya’s father asks Rahul to marry her, he simply backs off as he don‘t want to get indulged in any relationship. Priya gets hurted by this. After some time she comes to know about the fact that she learns that she is pregnant with Rahul’s child. Her parents try to convince her for dropping that child. But she decides to keep the child. She faces all the negative comments made to her by the society persons. In the end Rahul realise her offence and decides to go back in Priya’s life. But now Priya refuses to marry him as she has already given her heart to Ajay, who gave her full support in difficult circumstances.
