Bollywood musical drama flick, Ladki Sahyadri Ki, directed by Rajaram Vankudre Shantaram was released in the year 1966. The movie starred Vatsala Deshmukh and Shalini Abhyankar in lead roles while Sandhya, Prabhakar Pansiker, Manjiri Gondkar, Kumar Dighe, Baburao Pendharkar and Ganesh Solanki also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the veteran music director Vasant Desai while the songs were crooned by Pandit Jasraj and Suman Kalyanpur.

Rani ( Sandhya ) is living a very poor lifestyle alongwith her family. Despite of being associated with a poor family, Rani always dreams of becoming rich. She wants to do work but her parente refuse to allow her to go outside. But her parents finally give permission to her to do some work when their house collapses in a storm. Rani decides to start acting and enters in a stage group. The stage company owner make promise to her that if she continues to work for him then he will repair her house. Rani accepts all his conditions and starts working for him.

Rani starts working on the stage show for the company and her house re consruction work also starts side by side. Soon Rani becomes a renowned name of stage field. Now the stage owner starts showing his true colours. He tries to misbehave with her and when she refuse to work with him, he stops re construction work of her house.
