Bollywood family drama, Lafange, directed by Harmesh Malhotra was released in the year 1975. The movie starred Randhir Kapoor and Mumtaz in lead roles while Moolchand, Pran, Sujit Kumar, Anwar Hussain, Rajan Haksar, Asha Sachdev, Gulshan Bawra, Ram Mohan and D. K. Sapur also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by the hit veteran music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Young and beautiful Sapna ( Mumtaz ) is living a very wealthy lifestyle alongwith her father named Dhanraj ( D.K. Sapru ) and a younger brother. Her father finds out some diamonds and conceals them in a scret place. After few days, Dhanraj alongwith his son meets with a severe accident. Dhanraj dies instantly but his son managae to save his life. However, unfortunately Sapna’s brother looses his voice and is kidnapped by someone. Sapna is enrolled in a beauty contest which she wins later. Sapna is then asked to travel to bombay for some other consinements.

There she meets with a guy named Gopal ( Randhi Kapoor ), who is physically handicapped. She learns that Gopal is a slodier who had lost his legs in a war. After spending some time together, Gopal and Sapna falls in love with each other. Meanwhile, Sapna reveals that his father was killed by Diwan Chamanlal ( Anwar Hussain ), who is bafter the diamonds of her father. She seeks help of Gopal but little does she knows is that Gopal is also a fraud, who is after the diamonds. What she will do now?
