Bollywood romantic movie, Lamhe, starring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi in lead roles was released on November 4, 1991. The movie was directed by famous filmmaker Yash Chopra and was released under the renowned banner of Yash Raj Films. Former bollywood actress, Waheeda Rehman, alongwith Anupam Kher and Lalit Tiwari also played important characters in the film. The superhit music of the film was given by the music director duo, Shiv Hari, while the songs were rendered by Suresh Wadkar, Hariharan, Lata Mangeshkar, Ila Arun and Pamela Chopra.

Virendra Pratap Singh ( Anil Kapoor ) is a young handsome guy who belongs to a wealthy family. He visits Rajasthan with his governess, Dai Jaa ( Waheeda Rehman ). There he falls in love with a beautiful girl, Pallavi ( Sridevi ), who is older then him. Virendra fails to tell her about his love. Then suddenly one day, Pallavi’s father dies of a heart attack. Virendra goes to console her but there he finds out that Siddharth Kumar Bhatnagar ( Deepak Malhotra ), the man Pallavi loves.

Virendra is heartbroken but still arranges the wedding between Sidhharth and Pallavi. After their marraige, Virendra leaves for London. Siddharth and Pallavi meets with an accident. It was revealed that Pallavi was pregnant at the time of her death and gave birth to a daughter named Pooja ( Sridevi ). Dai Jaa takes care of Pooja. Years after, Virendra returns to India and sees Pooja who looks exactly like her mother. But new problem arises for Virendra when he finds out that Pooja has fallen in love with him now.
