The social drama movie Life in a… Metro has been released on May 11, 2007 and was bannered under UTV Motion Pictures. The movie has been directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The male leads in the film were Shiney Ahuja, Kay Kay Menon, Sharman Joshi, Gautam Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and Dharmendra while the female leads were Shilpa Shetty, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kangna Ranaut and Nafisa Ali. The music of the film has been directed by Pritam Chakraborty and the songs were sung by K K, Suhail Kaul, James, Pritam Chakraborty and Adnan Sami.

The movie Life in a… Metro was earlier thought to ne titled as Metro. There are many stories in the movie that are running side by side and are all linked to each other in some or the other way. The first character in the movie Rahul ( Sharman Joshi ) is a person working in a call center in Mumbai. He had few dreams in his eyes and this is why he had come to Mumbai. He is in love with his boss Neha ( Kangana Ranaut ) but didn’t tell her. Neha had achieved what many others can’t and that too in short time. This is not only because of her hard work but also because of the fact that her boss Ranjeet ( Kay Kay Menon ) loves her. If she is willing to do what he demanded, he gives her things what she demanded.

Ranjeet is married to Shikha ( Shilpa Shetty ) and have a 6 year old daughter. Shikha stayed at home and Ranjeet always forgets his duties towards his wife. Neglected by her husband, Shikha finds a friend in Akash ( Shiney Ahuja ) who is a struggling theatre actor and a divorcee left by her wife because she was not able to stand his failures. Akash and Shikha soon fell in love with each other. Amol (Dharmendra ) returns to India to spend his last few years of his life with his first love Vaijanti ( Nafisa Ali ). She is also Shikha’s aunt.
