The action thriller Loha was released on January 23, 1987. The movie was directed by Raj Sippy and produced by Salim Akhtar. The top roles in the film were played by Dharmendra, Mandakini, Shatrughan Sinha and Madhavi while the important roles were played by Karan Kapoor, Kader Khan, Amrish Puri, Jugal Hansraj, Goga Kapoor, Praveen Kumar, Roopesh Kumar and Raza Murad. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal.

The movie Loha was an action cum thriller flick that revolved mostly around a Police Inspector Amar ( Dharmendra ). Amar is an honest and true police officer who was strictly against the crimes and criminals and lived a middle class lifestyle in Bombay. He wanted to arrest a gangster Sher Singh ( Amrish Puri ) at any cost and one day while chasing him, he and Inspector Dayal ( Raza Murad ) gets attacked. But the injury to Dayal was severe as he had his legs crushed under a truck and thus was required to be wheel chair bound whole life.

The twist in the story comes when Amar arrests a local politician Jagannath Prasad. This act of his takes a heavy toll on him as not only the politician gets released without any charge but Amar also gets warning. After this insult, Amar resigns from his job. Soon after this incident, Sher Singh hijacks a bus full of passengers and asks the police officials to release 25 of his associates in place of the passengers. The main thing about this was that Dayal’s granddaughter, Seema ( Mandakini ) was among them.
