Bollywood movie, Lootmaar, written and directed by Dev Anand was released on April 10, 1980. The movie starred Dev Anand and Tina Munim in lead roles while Nirupa Roy, Amjad Khan, Mehmood, Prem Chopra, Shakti Kapoor, Kadar Khan, Ranjeet, Simple Kapadia, Rakhee Gulzar, Sharat Saxena, Om Shivpuri, Sudhir Dalvi, Kalpana Iyer and Shreeram Lagoo also played important roles in the film. The music of the film was given by none other than famous music director Rajesh Roshan while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle.

The movie belongs to Wing Commander, Bhagat ( Dev Anand ), who is living a happy life with his wife, Raksha ( Rakhee Gulzar ) and a son. One day he visists to his bank alongwith his wife only to find that the bank is being held by some goons. Robbers starts firing after the arrival of police on the spot. Bhagata tries to save his wife from the bullets of the robbers but fails and she dies. Now Bhagat decides to take revenge from the robbers at any cost but for that he needs to identify and locate them. He has only two clues to identify them, first is that one of the robber had a tear in his shboes and the another one was wearing a locket similar to his wife.

Bhagat admits his son in a school and goes to a hill station where he suspects the presence of the robbers. There he changes his identity and becomes Jim Darcy. He starst working as a car mechanic in the garage of his friend named John Gonsalves( Mehmood ). There he meets with a beautiful girl named Neela Ramniklal ( Tina Munim ) and falls in love with her. He somehow manage to identify those robbers but before he plans anything, he gets the news of his son’s kidnapping.
