Bollywood family drama, Maa- Where Are You, directed by Ashok Maurya and written by Devjyoti Roy was released on April 8, 2005. The movie starred Sonu Bakshi and Ashima Bhalla in lead roles while Prasuti Prasad, Seema Biswas, Rajesh Puri, Ketki Dave, Anil Nagrath, Parikshat Sahni, Mushtaq Khan and Ravi Sharma also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by the music director Kuldeep Singh while the songs were rendered by Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik etc.

Gopal Mahnto ( Sonu Bakshi ) is living a wealthy lifestyle alongwith his gaurdians, Mr and Mrs. Mahnto. Mrs. Mahnto is a cruel lady by nature. Gopal gets fed up of her cruel nature and decides to run away from there. He arrives in Bombay and meets with some guys of his age group. Gopal then starts working as a newspaper deliverer to make his living in the city. He accidently come across a beautiful bollywood actress, Shalini ( Ashima Bhalla ). After meeting with her, Gopal starts thinking that she may be his biological mother.

Gopal then decides to convince Shalini that she is actually his bilogical mother. Shalini get shocked to know about this. She refuse to accept him as her son. She tries to keep a distance from him but Gopal is determined to prove to her that he is her son. Whether Gopal will succeed in his plan or not?
