Maan Apmaan was a family dram movie released in 1979. N V Deshpande directed as well as produced the movie. The star cast of the involved Sanjeev Kumar and Kanan Kaushal while Ratna Mala, Jagirdar, Dhumal, Jay Shree T, Mohan Choti and Gajanan Jagirdar played the supporting roles. Laxmikant Pyarelal gave the music for the movie while Pandit Bharat Vyas was the lyricist.

Parvati ( Kanan Kaushal )belongs to a wealthy background who resides with her family. Her sister, Savitri ( Usha Solanki ) is wedded to an equally affluent man. Contrary to this, against her parents will, Parvati marries a poor man, Shankar ( Sanjeev Kumar ). Her father ( Gajanan Jagirdar ) offers them 10 Lakh rupees so that they can live comfortably but Shankar refuses his proposal. The couple decide to move at Ramdas ( Asit Sen ),Shankar’s friend but his wife ( Shammi ) refuses to shelter them .Eventually, They move to Shankar’s village, reconstruct his old house and begin again happily.

Soon, Parvati gives birth to a baby boy. Parvati’s parents visit them to see the baby but end up embarrassing Shankar. As the years passed by, Parvati and her family saw less of each other. Then one day , she received an invitation of her sister , Kamini’s wedding ceremony .All three of them happily visit to attend the marriage but unexpectedly they are humiliated and her mom even blames her for stealing her diamond ring. After this, they swear that won’t ever return home ever. Later they receive another invitation. Watch whether they forgot their humiliation and returned home?
