The social movie Madhubaala was released on March 31, 2006 under the banner of Deoria Talkies. The movie was directed by Shivram Yadav and produced by Rajoo Kariya, Bala Patel and Shivram Yadav. The main roles in the movie were enacted by Sameer Dharmadhikari, Gurpreet Singh, Nafisa Khan and Abhay Bhargava while the roles of Milind Gunaji, Kanishka and Rajoo Kariya were also important. The music of the film was directed by Bapi and Tutul while the songs were sung by Kunal Ganjawala, Ustad Sultan Khan, Shreya Ghosal and Sonu Kakkar.

There had been produced many films in the Bollywood raising the issue of cousting couch and the other inside news of the film industry. First there was movie named “Jigyasa” showcasing the same issue and now there is Madhubaala but this movie fails to deliver what it was supposed to do. The movie is a debut film for not only the director but also the actress Kanishka. The story of the movie revolves around Madhubaala ( Kanishka )who is an aspiring actress and wanted to make it big there. She is introduced to an award winning director Raj Malhotra ( Sameer Dharmadhikari ) by her friend ( Gurpreet Singh ).

To get a chance to act in a film Madhubaala had to go through the process of casting couch. She was raped by Raj a whopping 21 times in two years. She was also promised the role of a heroine in the film along with the false promise of their marriage. Madhubaala felt cheated when Raj got married to another girl ( Aditi Gowitrikar ). She files a case against him with the help of social activists and everyone including his parents and wife started thinking that he was guilty. But a twist comes when she tell the court that he didn’t rape her. She wanted to become famous and this is why she filed a case against him.
