Songs of Madhumati
Bollywood classic, Madhumati, directed by Bimal Roy was released in the year 1958. the movie starred Dilip Kumar and Vyjyantimala in lead roles while Pran and Johnny Walker also played important roles in the film. The hit music of the film was given by Salil Chaudhary and the songs were sung by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Mukesh etc. The movie received an overwhelming response from the audience and went on to do extremely well at the box office.
The movie starts with Devendra ( Dilip Kumar ), who is a engineer by profession. He is on his way to the railway station alongwith his friend in order to recieve his wife and son. But due to bad wheather they take shelter in an old mansion. But devendra feels some thing very familier with the house and trie to identify it. he sees a painting there and immediately recognizes it. He reminds the complete story of his previous life in which he was Anand, the manager of a timber state, and in love with a girl named Madhumati ( Vyjyantimala).
But Ugranarayan ( Pran ), was his enemy. Ugranaarayan plays a trick and sends Anand away from the place only to attack on Madhumati. When Anand returns to the place, he finds that Madhumati has dissappeared. After few days, he meets with another girl named Madhavi, who is a look alike of Madhumati. He ask her to help him in getting the revenge of Madhumati’s death from Ugranarayan. How he succeeds in geeting Ugranarayan arrested by police for Madhumati’s death? What is the relation of his past with his present life?
