Bollywood action thriller, Main Awaara Hoon, directed by Ashim S. Samanta and written by Gulshan Nanda was released in the year 1983. The movie starred Sanjay Dutt and Rati Agnihotri in lead roles while Raj Babbar, Jayapradha, Shakti Kapoor, Shoma Anand, Dinesh Hingoo, Ramesh Deo, Madan Puri, Shubha Khote, Iftekhar, Asit Sen, Rajendra Nath, Satyendra Kapoor and Tarun Ghosh also played important roles in the film. The melodious hit music of the film was composed by the veteran music director duo Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Udit Narayan, Amit Kumar, Alka Yagnik, Asha Bhonsle.

Rajeev Kumar aka Raju ( Raj Babbar ) and Sanjeev Kumar aka Sanju ( Sanjay Dutt ) are the two sons of Dinanath Kumar ( Satyendra Kapoor ). Their family includes two more member, one is Dinanath’s daughter Payal and another one is his widowed sister, Kalawanti. Raju is very good at studies while Sanju is not. Raju and Dinanath are always furious to Sanju. Sanju works as a mechanic in Tahir Khan’s garage. Sanju always gets into trouble for others. He is arrested by police in the charge of setting fire to Premnath’s ( Ramesh Deo ) house. However, later released by Police when Premnath withdraw the charges against him.

Raju ask Sanju to leave the house. Sanju leaves to Bombay and starts working there in a bakery shop owned by Chandulal ( Madan Puri ). Chandulal accuse him of misbehaving with his daughter, Bela ( Jayapradha ). Sanju leave that job and starts working as a taxi driver. Sanju get shocked to see his brother Raju in Bombay. Raju acknowledge him for doing a neat job. Sanju falls in love with a beautiful girl named Archana ( Rati Agnihotri ). But problem arises when he learns that Raju is also in love with Archana. What will he do now?
