Bollywood action thriller, Main Azaad Hoon, directed by Tinnu Anand and written by Javed Akhtar was released in the year 1989. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in lead roles while Raja Bundela, Annu Kapoor, Sudhir Pandey, Deepak Qazir, Manohar Singh, Ajit Vachchani, Anupam Kher, Sachin Khedekar, Mushtaz Khan, Avtar Gill nad Anjan Srivasta also played important roles in the film. The music of the movie was directed by Amar Biswas and Utpal Biswas in collaboration while the songs were rendered by Amitabh Bachchan etc.

Subahshini Saigal ( Shabana Azmi ), who is a reporter by profession recieves a letter from Azaad. In the letter, Azaad has enquired her that he is going to kill himself soon by falling from an under-construction hospital site. Subahshini publishes the letter in her newspaper. People starts taking interest in the story and demands to know who Azaad actually is. Newspaper owner, Gokuldas ( Manohar Singh ) ask Subahshini to bring Azaad in front of publice. Subahshini manage to find Azaad and finally presents him in front of people.

Azaad becomes a famous name in the whole city. Even some ministers also tries to befriends him but he does not pays attention to them. Little does people does not know is that Azaad actually works for Gokuldas who is aiming to become next chief minitser with his help. But what will happen when public will learn about this thing?
