Malamaal Weekly was a comedy movie released on March 10, 2006 under the banners of Percept Picture Company and Sahara One Motion Pictures. The movie was directed by Priyadarshan and included the lead actors as Ritesh Deshmukh, Om Puri, Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor while the roles Reema Sen, Sudha Chandran, Rajpal Yadav and Asrani were equally important. The music of the movie was directed by Uttankk V.Vorra and the songs were sung by Mahalakshmi Iyer, Vaishali Samant, Javed Ali and Shreya Ghosal.

The name of the movie Malamaal Weekly might suggest you that it is the story about some magazine but actually the movie is full of comedy about a winner of a lottery who dies due to the over joy of winning rupees one crore. The poverty struck villagers hatch a plan to not to let the money go and to fool the lottery inspector. Lilaram ( Paresh Rawal ) is the lottery seller in the village and the brain behind the plan to not to let the money go. Balwant alias Ballu ( Om Puri ) is the milkman of the village but this coward man also has an image of a brave person.

Kanhaiya ( Ritesh Deshmukh ) is a simple and dashing guy who is working as a full time servant at Balwant’s place. He is in deep love with Ballu’s daughter Sukhmani ( Rima Sen ) and this is why he don’t mind getting beaten up sometimes. One day Lilaram while watching TV, realizes that one of the tickets sold by him have won the bumper prize. To find the out the ticket he throws a party at the expense of his dearest goat kid. Everyone came except the drunkard Anthony. When Lilaram visited his house he saw him dead with the ticket in his hand. Now begins the series of laughter.
