Marte Dam Tak was an action movie which released on July 17, 1987. The movie was directed by Mehul Kumar and produced by Pranlal Mehta. The top roles in the movie were enacted by Raaj Kumar, Farha, Govinda and Om Puri while the supporting roles were played by Shakti Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Aruna Irani and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. The music of the film was directed by Ravindra Jain while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar. Lyrics of the film were given by Ravindra Jain.

Marte Dam Tak was an action flick that revolved mostly around an honest and true police officer Sub-Inspector Rane ( Raaj Kumar ). The city was rocked by a gangster who was spreading many threats in the city. Thus Rane wanted to arrest the crook P.C. Mathur ( Sudhir Dalvi ) and thus gets a warrant in his name. P.C. Mathur was the actual person behind several crime dealings in the city but before Rane could arrest him, he was arrested for the charge of murder and was sentenced seven years of imprisonment.

After the long seven years when Mathur was released, Rane has become a renowned figure now and known by the name Rana. His primary aim now was just to catch Mathur and kill him. But Mathur was able to fool him and escapes from his hands. Thus Rana now hires another person named Jai ( Govinda ) to catch Mathur. The movie takes a turn when Jai kills another person with the same name instead of real Mathur.
