Bollywood movie, Masoom, directed by Shekhar Kapoor was released in the year 1983. The movie starred Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi and Jugal Hansraj in lead roles while Supriya pathak, Saeed Jaffrey and Urmila matondkar also played important roles in the movie. The music of the film was given by R. D. Burman and the songs were sung by Bhupinder, Suresh Wadkar, Lata Mangeshkar etc. The movie is still remembered by people for its touching story and beautiful acting. The movie was the first directional venture of the Shekar Kapoor.

The movie starts with D. K .Malhotra ( Naseeruddin Shah ), who works in the office of an architect and living a happy life with his wife Indu ( Shabana Azmi ) and two sweet daughters named Pinky and Minni. But their world get shattered when Indu learns that D.K. has a son from another women. D.K. brings that boy named Rahul to his home. Bhavana ( Supriya Pathak ), who is the mother of Rahul, is no more alive in the world.

D.K. tries his best to make Rahul comfortable in his new home but all his efforts goes in vain. Rahul develops a feeling that Indu does not like him at all. But Pinky and Minni accepts him as their brother. Rahul is yet not known to the fact that D.K. is his real father. D.K. decides to admit Rahul in a boarding school where Rahul finally learns that D.K. is not just his uncle but his real father. What happens next worth a watch.
