Songs of Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women


Bollywood movie, Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women, written and directed by Manish Jha was released on July 8, 2005. The movie starred Tulip Joshi and Sushant Singh in lead roles while Sudhir Pandey, Farooq Sarkari, Mukesh Bhatt, Pankaj Jha, Amin Gazi, Latesh Chaudhary, Piyush Mishra, Srivas Naidu and Deepak Kumar Bandhu also played important roles in the film. The music of the movie was composed by the music director duo Salim-Suleman while the songs were crooned by Ustad Sultan Khan, Vijay Prakash etc.

The movie starts with the birth of a girl in a small village of India. The baby girl is murdered right after her brith by his own parents. After several years, this continues killing of girls results in the total absence of womens in the village. There are men and boys everywhere in the village but no womens. Ramsharan ( Sudhir Pandey ) is worried as his two sons are of marraigeable age but are unable to get married. Infact no marraige has taken in the village for almost fifteen years.

Ramcharan gets relief when he somehow manage to find a beautiful young women named Kalki ( Tulip Joshi ) for the marraige of his elder son. Ramsharan then pays a hefty sum of rupees to Kalki’s father so that he can make her the wife of all his five sons. Condition become even worse for Kalki when Ramcharan himself establishes physical relationship with her. Kalki finds relief in the form of Ramcharan’s younger son, Suraj ( Sushant Pandey ), who is a kind hearted guy and always take care of Kalki. But she get shocked when Suraj is killed by his won brothers because of his closeness to kalki.
