Mehandi Rang Layegi was a family drama released on July 9, 1982. The movie was directed by Dasari Narayana Rao and produced by Jain and Pradeep Sharma. The main roles in the movie were played by Jeetendra, Anita Raaj, Rekha and Asrani while the presence of Ashok Kumar and Aruna Irani supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle, Suresh Wadkar, Anuradha Paudwal, Lata Mangeshkar and Shabbir Kumar.

Mehandi Rang Layegi was a family flick that was liked by most of the people. The movie was directed by the famous director Dasari Narayana Rao who has directed movies like Yeh Kaisa Insaaf released in 1980, Aaj Ka Mla Ramavatar released in 1984 and Zakhmi Sher released in 1984 while his first film was Swarg Narak released in 1978. The movie was produced by Pradeep Sharma who had also acted in the movie Jodhaa Akbar released in 2008.

The male lead in the film was played by Jeetendra who has given many hit films to the Bollywood like Badi Didi, Nagin, Swarg Narak, Jaani Dushman and Hatim Tai amongst others. He debuted with the movie Geet Gaya Patharon Ne released in 1964. The female lead in the movie was played by Rekha who has also provided Bollywood with many hit movies. She made her debut with the movie Neela released in 1935. She has also sung the songs for various movies.
