Mehandi was a family drama released on November 13, 1998. The movie was directed by Hamid Ali Khan and produced by Salim Akhtar. The mail roles in the movie were played by Rani Mukherjee, Gulshan Grover, Faraaz Khan and Himani Shivpuri while the roles of Pramod Moutho and Shakti Kapoor were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Babul Bose and the songs were sung by Mohammad Aziz, Poornima, Udit Narayan, Sadhana Sargam, Anuradha Paudwal, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Kumar Sanu.

Mehandi was a social movie directed by a new director Hamid Ali Khan and still was able to make the movie such that it is liked by almost everyone of us. The lead roles in the movie are played by the famous actress Rani Mukherjee and actor Gulshan Grover. The theme of the movie is based on the day to day real lives of human beings and how they manage the relationships. The movie raises the love and differences in the relation of husband and wife and also displays how the bride has to cope up with the family pressure.

If a new born baby in a family is girl then the first thought that comes to the parents’ mind is that she is someone’s wealth. From that day, proper care is taken of her and one day when she matures she gets married and leaves her parents’ home and goes to her husband’s place. Divan Sahab ( Gulshan Grover ) has a daughter ( Rani Mukherjee ) who gets married to Faraaz Khan. Divan loves his daughter and sends her to her husband’s place. Now the troubles start when she faced the wrath of her in-laws.
