Bollywood comedy drama, Mem-Didi, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and written by Sachin Bhowmick was released in the year 1961. The movie starred Lalita Pawar and Tanuja in lead roles while Rashid Khan, David Abraham, Jayant, Amol Sen, Dhumal and Kaysi Mehra also played important characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was composed by the well known veteran music director Salil Chaudhary while the songs were rendered by Mukesh, Mahendra Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with two good hearted guys named Bahadur Singh ( David Abraham ) and Sher Khan ( Jayant ), who lives in a small village and always tries to help fellow villagers in their problems. Then enters a new tenant named Rosy ( Lalita Pawar ) in the scenario. Rosy’s first encounter with Bahadur and Sher Khan results in the humiliation for them. They decides to taker revenge from her but her good nature reverse their hearts and they befriends her. She tells them that her daughter, Rita ( Tanuja ) is in the city and is of marraigeable age.

They decides to pretend to be wealthy persons in front of the guy named Dilip ( Keysi Mehra ), with whom Rita is in love. They tries to impress Dilip and his father so that no problem occurs in the marraige of Dilip and Rita. Rosy is totally unknow to this deed of Bahadur and Sher Khan. What will happen when Dilip, his father and Rosy will reveal about this drama?
