Bollywood movie, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, directed by Raj Khosla and written by Akhtar Romani was released in the year 1971. The movie starred Dharmendra, Asha Parekh and Vinod Khanna in lead roles while Asit Sen, Laxmi Chhaya, Jayant, Sudhir, Bhagwan and Poornima also played important roles in the film. The superhit evergreen music of the film was composed by the famous music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar etc. The movie did well at the box office and its songs also recieved huge appreciation from the audience.

The movie starts with Ajit ( Dharmendra ), who is a famous theif and is wanted by police from a long time. Havaldar Jaswant Singh ( Jayant ) manage to arrest Ajit and he is sentenced to six months jail in the court. After completing his prison, Ajit decides to become a good person and he seeks help from Jaswant for starting a new life. Jaswant ask him to help him in his farming work. Ajit meets with a beautiful girl named Anju ( Asha Parekh ) and soon both falls in love with her.

Jabbar Singh ( Vinod Khanna ) is a wanted dacait of the village and the whole village is living under his terror. Ajit comes to know about this and decides to fight against this injustice. He decides to take on Jabbar on his own. What will happen next? How will Ajit takes on Jabbar? Will he be able to do what he has planned for?
