Mere Baad was a family drama released in the year of 1988. The movie was directed and produced by Vishwamitra. The lead roles in the movie were enacted by Ashutosh, Anupam Kher, Soni and Rakhee while the roles of Rajesh Puri, Ankush and Shantanu were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Usha Khanna while the songs were also sung by her. The lyrics of the film were given by Maya Govind.

Mere Baad was a social family drama that dealt with the daily lives of the people. The movie didn’t do well but its release was surely noticed. The movie was directed by Vishwamitra who has also directed and produced his debut movie earlier titled Bhala Manus and released in 1979 featuring Randhir Kapoor and Neetu Singh in the lead. The movie was produced by Ashutosh who debuted with the movie Kaash released in 1987 as an actor.

The story of the movie starts when a tragedy strikes one of the families in a village thereby tearing the family members apart. Anupam Kher and Raakhee are married to each other and have a happy family of four children. The twist in his life comes when he suffers an industrial accident that makes him disabled for life as he loses his arms. Raakhee also suffers the cancer at the same time. This broke their family and they wanted a safe place for their four children.
