Bollywood yesteryear hit movie, Mere Jeevan Saathi, directed by Ravikant Nagaichand written by Ramesh Pant was released in the year 1972. The movie starred Rajesh Khanna and Tanuja in lead roles while Nasir Hussain, Helen, Sujit Kumar, Sulochana Latkar, Bindu, Utpal Dutt and K. N. Singh also played important roles in the film. The melodious hit music of the movie of the movie was composed by the veteran hit music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a young and handsome guy named Prakash ( Rajesh Khanna ), who is a renowned artist. He meets with a beautiful girl named Jyoti Verma ( Tanuja ), who is a doctor by profession. He proposes to the girl and she agrees. They both decides to get married soon. They starts making preperation for their marriage but just before their marriage could happen, Prakash meets with an accident. He loooses his eyesight in this accident and is caught by the mens of a cruel princess, Kamini ( Helen ).

He manage to escape from the custody of the princess. He is then helped by a guy named Captain Vinod ( Sujit Kumar ). He takes care of Prakash and soon he recovers from his injuries and also regains his eyesight. He then decides to go back to Jyoti but get shocked to learn that Jyoti is now engaged to none other than Captain Vinod. What will he do?
