Bollywood musical romantic flick, Mere Sapno Ki Rani, directed by K. Raghuvendra Rao was released on August 15, 1997. The movie starred Sanjay Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar in lead roles while Rajesh Puri, Satyendra Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, Satish Shah, Asrani, Satish Kaushik, Laxmikant Berde, Rakesh Bedi , Madhoo and Anupam Kher also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the well knwon veteran music director duo Anand Milind while the songs were rendered by Udit Narayan, Vinod Rathod, Abhijeet, Sadhana Sargam, Alka Yagnik etc.

The movie starts with an unemployed guy named Vijay Kumar ( Sanjay Kapoor ), who only wants to get married to her dream girl. But his father ( Kulbhsuhan Kharbanda ) ants him to get married with a girl named Vandana ( Madhoo ), who is the daughter of his close friend. Vijay then meets with his dream girl named Sapna ( Urmila Matondkar ) in a party. Sapna also get attracted towards Vijay and realizes that they both are meant for each other. Soon they both fall in love with each other and decides to get married.

But their life get upturned when Vijay reveals that Sapna is actually the younger sister of none other than Vandana. To make the situation even worse, there is an admirer of Sapna who can go to any extent for getting married to Sapna. Now what will happen when Vijay will tell his father that he is in love with Sapna, who is the sister of Vandana, the girl choosen by him for Vijay.
