Bollywood movie, Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi, directed by Rajat Rakhsit was released in the year 1979. The movie starred Amol Palekar and Ranjeeta Kaur in lead roles while Raju Shreshtha, Ashok saraf, C.S. Dubey, Nilu Phule and Birbal also played important roles in the film. The melodious superhit music of the movie was composed by the well known female music director Usha Khanna while the songs were beautifully crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Suresh Wadkar and Asha Bhonsle.

The movie starts with Bhagawant Kumar Bhartendu aka Bhagu ( Amol Palekar ), who works as a professor in a reputed college. He is married to beautiful Priya ( Ranjeeta Kaur ) and living a happy married life with her. One day he hears his family doctor and wife discussing about heart trouble and he assumes that he is a having a big heart trouble and will die very soon. However, the doctor was talking about some other patient of him. He starts worrying about his wife that what she will do after his death. He starts having nightmares that his wife is being cheated and assualted by this cruel world.

He then decides that Priya should get married with someone else after his death. But he knows that Priya will never agree to this. So he decides to look after for a perfect match for his wife so that she can get married with him after his death. His search for the perfect husband for his wife leads to several funny situations.
