Yesteryear classic movie, Milan, directed by A Subba Rao was released in the year 1967. The movie starred Sunil Dutt and Nutan in lead roles while Pran and Jamuna played supporting roles in the film. The superhit music of the film was given by Laxmikant Pyarelal and the songs were sung by Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar. The movie went on to became a big hit at the box office. Nutan won the Filmafer Best Actress Award for her performance in the movie while Laxmikant Pyarelal also won Filmfare Best Music Director Award for this film.

The movie starts with, Gopi ( Sunil Dutt ) and Radha ( Nutan ). Gopi is a ferryman working on a boat and Radha is a upper class girl who used to travel in his boat for going to her college. Gopi is assisted bya girl, Gauri ( Jamuna ), in his boat. Gauri is in love with Gopi but he is not ready to understand it. Gopi and Radha develops feeling for each other and they falls in love with each other. But when Radha’s family learns about this, they force Radha to get married to someone else. After few days Radha’s husband dies suddenly.

Radha returns to her home only to find her father is ill. She also meets Gopi and which leads to continous meeting. People starts talking dirty rumours about their relationship. When Gauri tries to speak out on the issue to Gopi, he simply blames Gauri for all the rumours. Will Gopi and Radha will ever be able to meet each other in their life or they will have to take another birth to live happily with each other.
