Mitti Aur Sona was an action movie released on July 28, 1989. The movie was directed by Shiv Kumar and Shibu Mitra while it was produced by Pahlaj Nihalani. The top roles in the movie were played by Chunky Pandey, Neelam Kothari, Sonam and Vinod Mehra while Gulshan Grover, Mac Mohan, Aruna Irani, Anjana Mumtaz, Om Shiv Puri and Sushma Seth were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle, Amit Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Shabbir Kumar.

Mitti Aur Sona was an action cum social movie that revolved mostly around a young and rich guy named Vijay Bhushan ( Chunky Pandey ) son of wealthy Brijbhushan ( Om Shiv Puri ) and Yashoda ( Sushma Seth ). He matured with time and started going to college where he comes across a beautiful lady named Anupama Sinha ( Neelam Kothari ) who is the daughter of the Advocate Yashwant ( Pran ), friend of Brijbhushan. As usual and as it was expected, the families expect Vijay and Anupama to marry soon.

But the twist in the story comes when Vijay comes across another beautiful girl in the college named Neelima ( Sonam ) and both fell in love with each other. Neelima came from a poor family and thus Vijay was reluctant to let her meet his parents due to fear of getting rejected. Neelima was also an orphan and thus Vijay decides to leave his parents’ house and started working as a truck driver and started living with Neelima in a small house.
