Songs of Mohre


Mohre was a social offbeat film released in the year of 1988. The movie was directed by Raghunath Kul and produced by Appa Dandekar. The top roles in the movie were played by Nana Patekar, Anupam Kher, Madhuri Dixit and Sadashiv Amrapurkar while Alok Nath, K.K. Raina, Nilu Phule and Chandu Parkhi were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Vanraj Bhatia while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle, Manna Dey, Mahendra Kapoor, Priti Sagar and Shailendra Singh.

The social movie Mohre was released in 1988 and the movie revolved mainly around Abdul ( Nana Patekar ) who is a truck driver. Abdul was so much depressed and struck with alcohol that he was fed up of his life and wanted to end it. The turn in the story comes when one day another truck driver shows him a newspaper advertisement that offers help for suicide-ridden youth. Abdul wanted to try that out once, and for that he travelled all the way to the countryside.

Abdul was joined there by four other people each having something special with them. One of them was a printing press proof-reader, Prakash Raikar ( K.K. Raina ), another was a young woman, Maya ( Madhuri Dixit ), who had been molested and thus hates men. Two other youths were males including Sunil who is a gay. There they come across the person who advertised in the newspaper, a wheelchair-bound former Indian Army Major Vishwas Sawant ( Anupam Kher ) and his assistant, Vasu Mudaliar ( Sadashiv Amrapurkar ).
