The movie Mr and Mrs Khiladi was a romantic comedy released on October 10, 1997 under the banner of D S Films. The movie was directed by David Dhawan and was produced by Keshu Ramsay. The main roles in the movie were played by Akshay Kumar, Juhi Chawla and Kader Khan and some appreciable roles were played by Satish Kaushik and Johny Lever. The music of the movie was given by Anu Malik and the lyrics were written by Dev Kohli.

The movie revolves around Raja ( Akshay Kumar ) who is an idler. His uncle Pandit Mama ( Satish Kaushik ) who is an astrologer comes out with the prediction that Raja is going to live his life as a king in his future. This motivates Raja and he decides to do nothing but to wait for the future. Then, Raja meets Shalu ( Juhi Chawla ) who is the only daughter of a very rich man named Badrinath ( Kader Khan ) and fells in love with her.

Badrinath always wanted a self dependent son-in-law and when he comes to know about Shalu’s relationship with Raja, he denied their marriage. Shalu, who loved Raja passionately, forces his father for the marriage. So, Badrinath keeps a condition that if Raja is able to earn an amount of rupees one lakh he can marry Shalu. Now, Raja in a hurry to make money is ready to have a fight with a sumo wrestler. Will Raja marry be able to defeat the wrestler and win his love?
