Mr. Natwarlal was an action thriller with a touch of comical romance in between. The movie was released on June 8, 1979 under the banner of Navjeevan Films. The lead cast of the movie included Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha and Amjad Khan while Ajit, Iftekhar and Kader Khan played the supporting roles. Amitabh Bachchan, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle sang the songs while Anand Bakshi wrote the lyrics of the songs. Rajesh Roshan was the music director.

Girdharilal ( Ajit ) is an honest police inspector who resides with his wife, Seema ( Indrani Mukherjee ) and a younger brother, Natwar. Once, Girdharilal is assigned the case of detaining a criminal, Vikram Singh ( Amjad Khan ). However, the clever Vikram deceives Girdharilal. Girdharilal is accused of false implications of bribery by Vikram, is dismissed from his duty and is publically humiliated .Witnessing all this, Natwar swears to avenge this humiliation.

Natwar grows up to a clever smuggler. He looted the bad people and distributed the loot amongst the poor and the needy. He did not forget his ambition of locating Vikram Singh. He is successful in locating him in the hilly regions of Northern India, and he accordingly approaches him. Upon his arrival, he takes his revenge of Girdhalilal’s humiliations from him.
