Anurag Basu and Mahesh Bhatt directed, Murder, was rleased in the year 2004. The movie starred Emraan Hashmi, Mallika Shehrawat and Ashmit Patel in lead roles while Sheeba and Raj Zutshi also played significant roles in the film. The movie was set in Bangkok, Thailand. The superhit music of the film was given by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by Kunal Ganjawala, Aamir Jamal, Anuradha Paudwal, Alisha Chinai and Sonu Nigam. The film was inspired by the Hollyood movie Unfaithful starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane. Mallika proved in this film that she is just not a sex goddess but an actress too.

The movie starts with Simran ( Mallika Sherawat ) and her husband, Sudhir ( Ashmit Patel ). Simran is unhappily married to her dead sister’s husband, Sudhir. But Sudhir hasn’t forgotten her first wife and therefore ignores Simran everytime. Simran feels ignored and unloved by her husband. One day she meets her college boyfriend, Sunny ( Emraan Hashmi ). She develops feeling for him and Sunny too tries to seduce her. After several meeting, they get into a physical relationship.

Simran tries hard to hide her relationship with Sunny from Sudhir. But Sudhir get suspicious about her changed attitude and hires a private detective to find out what his wife is upto. In the meantime, Simran finds out that Sunny is using her just for his sexual pleasures. Simran decides that Sunny is a creep while Sudhir is the man to lust for. Simran now actually falls in love with Sudhir. But they both get shocked after hearing the news of Sunny’s death. Now police is after the killer and the prime suspects are Sudhir and Simran.
