The religious and devotional movie My Friend Ganesha was released on July 6, 2007 under the banner of Koffee Break Pictures. The movie has been directed by Rajiv S. Ruia. The main stars in the film were Ahsaas Channa, Shital Shah and Kiran Janjani while the roles of Anil Nagrath, Upasna Singh and Mushtaq Khan were also significant. The music of the film was directed by Laxmi, Vasant, R Roy and Ahsan Ahmed while the songs were sung by Shaan, Zubeen Garg, Roop Kumar Rathod, Javed and Pamela Jain.

My Friend Ganesha is not an animated movie but the lord Ganesha is shown animated in the film. The story of the movie is about four members of a family Aaditya ( Kiran Janjani ), the father; Aarti ( Sheetal Shah ), mother; Ashu ( Ahsaas Channa ), son; Aditi ( Aarya ), father’s sister and a maid ( Upasana Singh ). The film depicts today’s modern life where the parents of the child were so busy in their life and work that they do not get time for him. This is why Ashu felt lonely and was in need of a friend. He only got love from his maid Gangubai.

On a rainy day Ashu saved a mouse from drowning and brought him home. He narrated the story to his maid who also praised him saying that he just saved lord Ganesha’s pet ride from drowning. He wasn’t able to understand the story so his maid narrated him the whole story about lord Ganesha and Mushakraj. His maid told her that he can find his friend in Lord Ganesha. Ashu felt excited to this fact and asked his parents to bring the Lord Ganesha home on the coming festival. The boy became very happy and all the problems of his family disappeared. Ashu and Lord Ganesha became very great friends.
