The movie My Name is Anthony Gonsalves was released on January 11, 2008 under the banners of E Niwas Productions, Red Chillies Entertainment and Sahara One Motion Pictures. The social movie has been directed by E Niwas and includes the main star casts as Nikhil Dwivedi, Amrita Rao, Lilette Dubey, Javed Sheikh, Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty. There were other actors like Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor and Hrishita Bhatt in special roles. Music of the film has been directed by Himesh Reshammiya and Pritam Chakraborty and the singers of the movie are Sunidhi Chauhan, K K, Shaan and Remo Fernandes.

The name of the movie makes us remember the lyrics of a popular song but the movie fails to grip the audience.  The story of the movie revolve around a guy named Anthony Gonsalves ( Nikhil Dwivedi ) who is working as a bartender in Jimmy’s Pub in Bandra, Mumbai. Anthony had some extra-ordinary dream of becoming an actor but was not sure of how he is going to do that. He was currentlu helping his bosses by making sure that the bar is run smoothly. The owners of the pub Sikander ( Pawan Malhotra ), Maqsood ( Mukesh Tiwari ) and Riyaaz ( Dayashanker Pandey ) were also the gangsters and used their bar as a place where they perform their illegal activities.

Anthony was an orphan since he was very young. He was much impressed by Sikander who was like a God to him while for Sikander Anthony was like a younger brother and the two persons helped each other a lot. Anthony did not know anything about Sikander’s illegal activities, he just knew about his pub. One day by mistake Anthony witnessed a murder of a police officer and so was investigated by Inspector Khan ( Jawed Sheikh ) who also knew that Anthony was the only witness to the murder. Anthony had to decide between Sikander and the trueness of his inner soul. Anthony also fell for a girl named Riya Pereira ( Amrita Rao ).
