Yesteryear fantasy bollywood flick, Nagin, directed by Raj Kumar Kohli was released on 19 January 1976. The movie starred Sunil Dutt, Reena Roy and Jeetendra in lead roles while Feroz Khan, Sanjay Khan, Vinod Mehra, Kabir Bedi, Rekha, Mumtaz, Yogeeta Bali also played important characters in the film. the superhit music of the film was given by famous music director duo, Laxmikant Pyarelal and the songs were sung by Mahendra Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Kishore Kumar and Mohammed Rafi. The movie became one of the biggest hit of that year.

The movie starts with Professor Vijay ( Sunil Dutt ), who is doing research on snakes who on reching a certain age gets the power of trasforming into human being at their will. Vijay meets with a Male serpent ( Jeetendra ). He then goes to tell this to his close friends. The group of the six friends decides to go to the jungle to see that serpent. They finds that the male serpent is enjoying with the female serpent ( Reena Roy ). One of the guy form the group does not believe Vijay and kills the male servent. The female servant then sees the images of the killers in the still eyes of her mate male serpent.

The female serpent then swears to avenge the death of her mate by killing them one by one. She kills the two of the killers easily. But then the left four guys, wears an unique amulet for their protection from her. But somehow, the serpent manages to kill the three of them. Now the only one left is Vijay. She also attempts to kill him but he saves himself. Vijay also manages to kill that female servent with the help of a priest ( Premnath ).
