Yesteryear blockbuster movie, Naseeb, directed by Manmohan Desai was released in the year 1981. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, Rishi Kapoor and Hema Malini in lead roles while Pran, Amjad Khan and Reena Roy played supporting roles in the film. The movie was distributed under the banner of Asia Films Pvt. Ltd. The superhit music of the film was given by the famous duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal and the songs were sung by Mohammed Rafi, Mukesh, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc. The film was well recieved by the audience and went on to do good business at the box office.

The movie starts with Namdev ( Pran ), who is a waiter by profession. He buys a lottery ticket by a drunk with the help of his three friends, Damu ( Amjad Khan ), Jaggi ( Jagdish Raj ) and Raghu ( Kader Khan ). They decides to give the ticket to Jaggi. But when Damu and Raghu learns that the lottery has won a prize of Rs. 5 lakh, they turns negative and murders Jaggi. They also frames Namdev in the case of Jaggi’s murder. They even tries to kill Namdev but he survives. Damu and Raghju presumes that Namdev is dead.

Damu and Raghu build a big 5 star hotel with the help of the prize money. Damu gives the job of a waitor to Namdev’s elder son, Jhonny ( Amitabh Bachchan ) in his hotel. Damu’s son, Vikram aka Vicky ( Shatrughan Sinha ) is the best friend of Jhonny. Unfortunately, Johnny and Vicky falls in love with the same girl, Asha ( Hema Malini ), who is a famous singer. However, Julie ( Reena Roy ), cousin of Jhonny, is in love with Vicky. When Johnny learns about Vicky’s love for Asha, he simply takes his steps back and decides to sacrifice his love.
