Bollywood suspense drama, Nigahen, directed by Harmesh Malhotra was released in the year 1989. The movie starred Sunny Deol and Sridevi in lead roles while Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover and Jagdeep were also seen playing important roles in the movie. The music of the movie was given by music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal and the songs were sung by Suresh Wadkar, Mohammed Aziz, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Anuradha Paudwal. The movie was the sequel of Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi starrer superhit movie Nagina. However, this movie didn’t recieved the same success like the previous one.

The movie starts with a beautiful girl, Neelam ( Sridevi ), who retunrs to her rural palatial home after completing her education in the city. Tantrik Goraknath ( Anupam Kher ) sees her and she quickly reminds her of her mother, Rajni, who was a snake in reality. Goraknath wants to get the priceless diamond ‘mani’ and only Neelam knows the exact location of that diamond. Neelam meets with a handsome guy named Anand ( Sunny Deol ) and they both falls in love with each other.

Later it is revealed to Neelam that Anand is not who he pretends to be. In fact he is a snake who was kept by Goraknath in his captivity for a long time. Neelam also learns that Anand was caught by Goraknath at the age of seven and he trasformed him to a snake with his tantrik powers. Anand and Neelam get married to each other and starts living in Neelam’s home. But Goraknath uses his power and forces Anand to learn where exactly the ‘Mani’is?
