The action crime movie Officer was released on March 2, 2001. The movie was directed by Naeem Sha and produced by Faruq Nadiadwala. The lead roles in the movie were played by Sunil Shetty, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Raveena Tandon and Danny Denzongpa while Shahbaaz Khan and Tej Sapru were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Deepak Chaudhary and Rajesh Roshan while the songs were sung by Shaan, Jaspinder Narula, Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Preeti Uttam and Sonu Nigam.

As the name of the movie suggests the story of the movie is about an honest cop who hadles and captures the criminals of the city single handedly. The movie Officer is filled with suspense, thriller and good doses of romance at some places. The officer Sagar Chauhan ( Sunil Shetty ) is the ultimate protector and works as the head of Special Protection Group to provide security to the top class people thereby indulging his life in danger and at risk of getting killed.

Sagar is the incorruptible cop who provides security to the VVIPs. One day the business tycoon Pratap Rai ( Danny ) hires Sagar to provide security to and to take care of his mentally depressed wife Meenal ( Raveena ). Meenal started liking him but for him she was only a client. Meenal proposes him but duty bound Sagar refuses and this leads her to commit suicide. The twist in the story comes when Sagar takes his friend Lobo Fernandes ( Sadashiv Amrapurkar ) to Goa where he spots Meenal’s look alike named Namita Sharma.
