The comedy movie Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav was released on January 28, 2005 under the banners of Rhea Arts and Satyajeet Movies Pvt Ltd. The movie was directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Manek Bedi and Sagoon Wagh. The lead roles in the film were played by Sunil Shetty, Mahesh Manjrekar, Masumi Makhija and Johny Lever while the supporting roles were played by Gulshan Grover and Kim Sharma. Music of the film was directed by Anand Raj Anand and the songs were sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Vinod Rathod, Sunidhi Chauhan and K K.

The movie Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav is an action comedy film that has nothing to do with the political background and stands by its tagline “Excitement Has A New Name”. The name of the movie is so because of the names of the characters in the film are those respectively. Laloo ( Suniel Shetty ) is suffering from a psychological disorder named “shesightophrenia” in which he goes out of control whenever he sees a good looking girl. He has got an image of a playboy among the girls. He also has a girlfriend Padma ( Masumeh Makhija ).

Padma often feels cheated due to Laloo’s flirty habits and thus after one incident she decided to get away from him. She took a flight for Cape Town to claim her jewels back which were stolen by someone from her father. When she got there she found Laloo standing right before her asking for forgiveness. Laloo now wanted to help her on the mission and thus seeks the help of a local conman Yadav ( Johny Lever ). With his help they rob the bank where the jewels were. Padma tries to woo Prasad ( Mahesh Manjrekar ) who is fighting the case against her in hopes of getting some information.
